Mother Tongue

Mother tongue is the term used for a person’s language they learned from birth. It is the first or the dominant language a person use when speaking. Child’s psychological and personality will be depending on the mother tongue. From womb to birth, it is what the child hears and gets to know with. Learning starts from the language that’s been taught first, they can easily express their selves’ and the ability to converse with others is because of their mother tongue.

A child who lacks knowledge and usage of the mother tongue especially during the formative years can form issues such as language extinction. But sometimes, mother tongue is not necessarily a person’s first language but it is when person is able to master its linguistics and communication aspects.
